Local Music Project

Iowa City Public Library

The collection that started it all. Launched in 2012, the Local Music Project paved a new way for libraries to share local music online. Not only did ICPL provide a model for licensing and sharing, it demonstrated that projects like these could succeed on multiple levels, generating strong use, forming new relationships between libraries and artistic communities, and sparking local and national media interest. More from our friends at the Library as Incubator Project here and here.
